One form of action an emergency response network could take would be a demonstration, possibly involving nonviolent civil disobedience, at the campaign headquarters of a candidate who has made a statement or who has taken a position or action that is obnoxiously racist.
IPPN has initiated an effort for 2004, "2004 Racism Watch," to monitor the statements and actions of candidates at various levels, from local to Presidential, and get as many progressive groups and individuals as possible prepared and organized to respond to clearly racist statements and actions.
One base-level form of action would be the organization of workshops to prepare a multi-cultural cross-section of activists in different parts of the country to build broadening circles of involvement in action to confront racism when it happens, e.g., emergency response networks.
