The World Factbook - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The official seal of the CIA, however, may not be copied without permission as required by the CIA Act of 1949 (50 U.S.C. section 403m).
As an official publication of the United States government, the factbook lists the official policy of the United States government as 'fact' often with little more than a footnote to indicate that the fact is disputed or that a contrary position exists.
Misuse of the official seal of the CIA could result in civil and criminal penalties:

 The CIA World Factbook
The CIA is anything but a benign agency and more than a passive intelligence-gathering arm of the United States government.
This "factbook," an archive of data collected by the United States government, serves the empire by working to control discourse, specifically the way other nations are represented and discussed.
Despite a lack of spacial limitations imposed on the text, the Factbook is far from a depository of "raw data." Instead, Shuler suggests that its archival function is one among many acts of aggression on the part of an aspiring Empire.

CIA - The World Factbook -- FAQs
The World Factbook is in the public domain and may be used freely by anyone at anytime without seeking permission.
The BGN is the component of the United States Government that develops policies, principles, and procedures governing the spelling, use, and application of geographic names—domestic, foreign, Antarctic, and undersea.
However, US Code prohibits use of the CIA seal in a manner which implies that the CIA approved, endorsed, or authorized such use.

A fuller explanation may be found under the European Union Preliminary statement.
Recent confirmation that the United Kingdom Government administers the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on Cyprus as dependencies (and not as lease areas like the US Guantanamo Bay Naval Station in Cuba) has required a changing of their status and their addition to the Factbook as new entities.

Unfortunately, copyright information was not readily available, but judging from the way the page is presented, it should not be hard to attain.
Finally, since the CIA is based here in the United States, I would have enjoyed a breakdown of all 50 states somewhere on their page, but this was not so.
The CIA World Factbook compiles difficult to find information and makes it available to all users.

Scripts were written, tests were done, and eventually the entire factbook was slurped into the system.
