"Demands made upon the United Nations are not being matched by resources to...
The United Nations (UN) is an international association of independent states that was founded by the victorious nations of World War II to keep the peace their efforts had won.
The UN has six principal organs: the Economic and Social Council, the United Nations General Assembly, the International Court of Justice, the Secretariat, the United Nations Security Council, and the United Nations Trusteeship Council.

United Nations Declaration of Human Rights Destroys Individual Rights by Glenn Woiceshyn -- Capitalism Magazine
The concept of rights is older than the United Nations but relatively new in human history -- a predominantly savage and bloody history of war, murder, slavery, rape and looting committed by humans against humans.
That's what the United States' founding fathers meant by the individual's right to "life, liberty, property and the pursuit of happiness." These rights, being "unalienable," cannot be abrogated by government decree or majority vote.
Meanwhile, the United States -- the freest and most prosperous country on earth -- becomes the moral villain for not sufficiently protecting "economic rights," i.e., for not sufficiently sacrificing those individuals who are ambitious, creative and productive to those who are not.

The declaration contained definitions of the basic civil and political rights that are recognized in the democratic countries, but it listed as well a number of economic, social, and cultural rights.

Dissertations, Essays on "The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights is a wish list drawn up by a group of "bleeding heart liberals" who are completely out of touch with the real world"
In many ways the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights appears to be a statement of ideals written by naive and out of touch Samaritans, but on closer inspection it becomes obvious that they are more of a serious plea for peacefulness and liberation than a document of childish requests.

…Rights may be a wish list, and may never amount to being much more than a wish list, but it is effective, and as long as it is considered acceptable to abide by it, it will continue to be effective.

But one in which globalization is not a process moved solely by human greed, creating an increasingly greater divide between the "haves" and the "have nots", but a movement that instead is reducing that divide: eliminating poverty, eradicating mass epidemics, and raising the standard of living around the globe.
Tolerance is grounded and guaranteed by declaring and enforcing human rights.

The United States federal government's War on Drugs has destroyed the lives of countless innocent citizens and continues to erode our nation's regard for human rights.
To violate our right to possess and utilize Her benefits given to us by Almighty GOD violates Article 18 of the UDHR of December 10, 1948.
The Drug War has effectively outlawed traditional cannabis-based religions such as the Rastafari, Coptic Christians, Sufi Moslem, Sadhu Hindu, etc. Courts routinely exclude all testimony or reference to their religious motives when "the facts" of a case are presented to a jury.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
