Executive Order 13087 on May 28, 1998, which awarded homosexuals "special protection." The order prohibits federal employers from discriminating based on sexual preference." Clinton maintained that this measure did not create any new enforcement rights but merely "provided uniform policy for the federal government to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation."
Executive Order 13083 was one of the few edicts that evoked public opposition.
Now, with the "stroke of the pen," an executive order effectively becomes the "law of the land." While some executive orders are appropriate uses of presidential authority, others violate the Constitution and threaten our civil liberties.

Force 266, staffed by SOE and OSS (its American equivalent), supplied Tito's partisans and Mihailovic's chetniks in Yugoslavia until it was absorbed in June 1944 by Force 399 of the Balkan Air Force, based at Bari, the co-ordinating HQ for all special operations across the Adriatic.
SOE was officially dissolved early in 1946 and special operations were returned to the control of the Secret Intelligence Service.

Jedburgh was an operation in World War II in which men from the Office of Strategic Services and the British Special Operations Executive parachuted into Nazi occupied France to conduct sabotage and guerilla warfare, and to lead French Maquis forces against the Germans.
Operation Jedburgh was a joint operation with the British Special Operations Executive, and represented the first real cooperation in Europe between SOE and the Special Operations branch of OSS.
Like all Allied forces who operated behind Nazi lines, the Jedburghs or Jeds as they called themselves, were subject to torture and execution in the event of capture, under Hitler's notorious Commando Order.
